My daughter rushed me there because I could not drive and my oncologist is affiliated with this hospital. She stayed with me and witnessed the horrible treatment I received in the ER waiting room! I was screaming, crying and begging for help. My words fell on deaf ears! I broke out in a sweat and felt like I was going to pass out. The young, white female nurse wheeled a wheelchair out to me, and left me. She called another patient in, as I begged,"Please help me!" The other nurse, young, male oriental, called me back to get information and returned me to the waiting room!!!!!!! Some time later, the wheeled me to the back hallway to get me on a stretcher, as I now start uncontrollably vomiting. The female nurse got some sort of a bag for me to vomit in, but it was uncontrollable, and I missed the bag several times. Her response to me was, "Can't you get it in the bag?!?!" At this point my diarrhea was out of control, and I mentioned it. The male nurse responded, "What do you want me to do? Get a bed pan and put it in the middle of the floor?!?" The entire time I was crying and so was my daughter!!! Disgraceful!! Once I got in a room, in the care of the ER nurses and doctors, I was treated like a human being, with compassion and care! They were fabulous! I was admitted for a week with a life threatening intestinal blockage!!!! Shame on those two nurses... and they know who they are!!!!!
We had our son at Valley. It was an amazing experience. The Doctor's, RN's, the entire staff were so kind to us and genuinely cared for our family. I highly recommend this hospital. :)
As a middle aged man, I went to the ER with chest pains. ER was over crowed so after my check-in I was put on a gurney in the hallway. About 5 min later, a tech came by and gave me an EKG, another 5 min went by and another tech asked me to follow them to a now open room for my vitals. HELLO, I'm having chest pains can you put me in a wheelchair and comfort me a bit. After taking my BP, temp & heart rate I was told to go back to waiting room in ER and someone would call me in. Almost 40 minutes expire and my name is called, finally. I can only assume that I wasn't having a cardiac episode based on the lackadaisical treatment. The same tech who took my EKG now tells me to follow him(no wheel chair, lets hoof it with your chest pains). He brings me back to the standing room only ER exam rooms where I am told, sorry no rooms so you will have to wait in the hallway an lay on a gurney. After 90 min of NO ONE coming to comfort or check on me, I made an executive decision to simply get up and leave. NOT ONE employee wanted to even make eye contact with me the whole time I was lying there awaiting treatment. I left the facility unnoticed @ 1:15pm, at 5:30pm to simply get any results from my EKG...over 4 hrs later and no one ever even attempted to contact me from the facility to see why I was missing......#deathvalley
I went to Valley Hospital ER on
I was in excruciating abdominal pain and had uncontrollable diarrhea. I was wearing Depends and could barely walk!
We had great luck with most of the staff, but one or two need a return to sensitivity training.
Overall a great experience, most of the staff were pleasant, knowledgeable and went out of their way to assist two brand new parents ease their way into an amazing experience.
I delivered my first child here at Valley Hospital's childbirth center. We were really impressed by the amenities and services the hospital provided. The nurses were lovely, caring and on top of everything. They made my labor less stenous and stay more pleasant. I was visited by many doctors and technicians frequently and my little baby was looked after so well at the nursery. The best thing about them is that they provide so much help when it comes to trying for vaginal delivery, lactation support, newborn care and what not. I would highly recommend this place to friends and family.
January 27th at midnight.
